When the weather warms up and you’re craving something cool, refreshing, and just a little bit sweet, smoothies are a great idea! Whether you need a quick and healthy breakfast idea before heading out the door or a simple summer snack to sip on in the afternoon, these recipes check all the boxes. They’re fast, flexible, and a great way to use up whatever fruit you happen to have on hand. And when making smoothies, the mix-ins are up to you! You can toss in leafy greens, blend up your favorite ripe summer fruit, add yogurt for creaminess, or keep things light and icy. It’s all part of the fun!

To keep things simple, we’re highlighting five favorites that cover a little bit of everything. There’s a juicy watermelon smoothie that practically tastes like summer in a glass, a peach version that’s perfectly sweet with a tiny kick, and a pumpkin smoothie that sounds cozy but still works surprisingly well as a chilled treat. You’ll also find a healthy green smoothie that sneaks in plenty of good-for-you ingredients without tasting overly virtuous, plus a bold purple blend that’s as vibrant as it is fruity.

Some of these make for a quick breakfast you can throw together on a busy morning, while others feel more like an after-school snack for the kids that you can blend up without much planning. (A few even blur the line between snack and dessert, which is never a bad thing!) However you approach it, these smoothies are easy to make, easy to tweak, and easy to come back to all the time.

Frozen peaches make this one thick and frosty from the start, while banana and Greek yogurt keep it smooth and mellow. The dash of cinnamon and fresh ginger give it a surprise twist!

Ree had her doubts the first time she heard the words "pumpkin smoothie" but that changed the second she tried these. "It turned out to be one of the creamiest, most delicious treats I’d ever tasted—almost like a pumpkin milkshake, but not nearly as sinful," she said.
