I have loved this top since before I started blogging. I ordered it from Anthropologie in 2005, after I’d lost a bunch of baby weight and Marlboro Man told me we were leaving the house and going to a wedding and I had nothing to wear but maternity yoga pants and a shelf bra tank. You try going to a wedding in that number!
I thought this top looked pretty in the catalog, but I was skeptical that it would translate to real life (as many catalog items don’t)…but I wound up loving it.
The silk fabric is gorgeous…but it’s the intricate beading that gets all the attention. It’s romantic and lovely.
I wore this with a long, slightly sheer camisole underneath, white pants, and bronze-ish metallic sandals.
Here’s the back of the shirt, around the neck area. I always thought this shirt should be worn by someone with really short hair (or long hair pulled up.)
As much as I’ve always loved this top (for the past six years, to be exact), I never wore it after the wedding Marlboro Man and I attended. The cap sleeves have just never been a match for my not-ripped arms, and I just don’t go to very many dressy, wedding-type things. It’s a gorgeous, special top, though—one of you needs to welcome it into your life.

Wife, Mom and…Grandma!
Ree’s kids (daughters Alex and Paige and sons Bryce and Todd) are all grown up, and as of December 2024, Ree is the proud grandma of the cutest baby ever, Sofia Scott, born to Alex and her husband Mauricio. Ree still cooks for Ladd (and the kids when they’re home), and she also looks after a few mischievous ranch dogs.
