Dad deserves at least one special day a year to thank him for all that he does. So, when Father’s Day rolls around, treat him to a steak dinner! Sure, you can get him a meaningful gift and a card. But let’s be honest, a big ol’ piece of meat and a few tasty sides will make him just as happy. It’s a thoughtful gesture if you think about it: You know him well enough to give him what he wants!

These Father’s Day steak dinner ideas range from fancy-dancy, restaurant-style dinners like steak au poivre and surf and turf to more casual meals like fajitas and kebabs that are just as tasty. If the sun is shining, head out to the grill (if he allows you near his territory, of course) and impress him with some cowboy steaks or Cajun T-bones. Or stay inside and wrap some filets in bacon. You really can’t go wrong with any of them!

You’ll find all the different cuts of beef here, from quick-cooking and inexpensive flank steak to that once-in-a-while, special-occasion grilled tenderloin that requires a bit of effort, but man, it is good. (Ladd Drummond’s tips will guide you through his whole process!) No matter which steak dinner recipe you decide on for Father’s Day, Dad will surely be happy. Remember, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so you’re making the right move by gifting him meat.
