If you can't find blood orange juice to make this brilliantly colored cocktail, you can sub in regular orange juice.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. mezcal
  • 1 oz. orange juice
  • 1 oz. blood orange juice
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice, plus 2 lime wedges
  • 1 oz. simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz. grenadine
  • 4 to 6 dashes of orange bitters
  • Chili powder, for the rim
  • Kosher salt, for the rim

Directions

    1. Step 1Combine the mezcal, orange juice, blood orange juice, lime juice, simple syrup, grenadine and bitters in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake for 8 seconds.
    2. Step 2Combine equal parts chili powder and salt on a plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a tall glass and dip in the chili salt to coat.
    3. Step 3Fill the glass with ice and strain in the contents of the shaker. Garnish with a lime wedge.
