Once football season rolls around, the snack table can never have enough dips—especially the cheesy kind. This chicken bacon ranch dip deserves a front-and-center spot on any game day spread. The classic combo of chicken, bacon, and ranch is already a favorite in casseroles and sandwiches, and here it gets the full creamy, melty dip treatment. All you need to do is soften the cream cheese, do a little stirring, and slide it into the oven. You’ll have a hot, crowd-pleasing dip ready to serve before kickoff even begins.

What's in chicken bacon ranch dip?

This warm, creamy dip starts with a rich blend of cream cheese, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. Cooked, chopped chicken and crispy bacon give it substance, while ranch seasoning, pimientos, and green onions add plenty of bold, savory flavor. Once baked, everything melts together into a bubbly, irresistible dip that’s made for serious snacking.

Can chicken bacon ranch dip be made ahead of time?

Absolutely. You can stir the dip together, spread it into a baking dish, cover it tightly, and refrigerate it for up to two days. When you’re ready to serve, bake it covered with foil for about 20 minutes, then uncover and continue baking for another 10 to 15 minutes, until the top is hot, golden, and bubbling.

How long will leftover chicken bacon ranch dip keep in the refrigerator?

Store any leftovers (if you have them!) in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat them in the microwave or in a 350-degree Fahrenheit oven until hot and bubbly again.

What should you serve with chicken bacon ranch dip?

This dip is great with tortilla chips, but it also pairs well with pita chips, toasted baguette slices, or sturdy sliced veggies like celery, carrots, and bell peppers.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream, room temperature
  • 2 Tbsp. ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 4 oz. diced pimientos, drained
  • 6 green onions, thinly sliced and divided
  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or raw vegetables, to serve

Directions

    1. Step 1Preheat the oven to 350°F.
    2. Step 2In a 12-inch skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat, stirring often until crispy, about 8 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove the bacon from the pan to a paper towel-lined plate.
    3. Step 3In a medium bowl, use a rubber spatula to soften the cream cheese until very creamy and smooth. Add the sour cream and the ranch seasoning mix, whisking until very well combined. Fold in  1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese, chicken, pimientos, 5 sliced green onions, and all but ¼ cup of the bacon.
    4. Step 4Spoon the mixture into a 1 quart casserole dish. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese and reserved 1/4 cup of bacon.
    5. Step 5Bake on the center rack until bubbly, 25 to 30 minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining sliced green onion.
    6. Step 6Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or raw vegetables.
