"Ladd and I go together to a farm in Owasso, Oklahoma," she says. "They have beautiful Christmas trees and always have a great selection, even on the years I’m running late—sometimes as late as December 17!"
Before taking your tree home to adorn with your favorite Christmas decorations, stick around and take part in the many activities these farms offer. You can cut your own tree at Beaver's Christmas Tree Farm. Choose from White Pine, Virginia Pine, Blue Ice, and Leyland Cypress varieties, all of which are grown right there on the property. Note: They do not sell Fraser Firs. But you do get free hot cocoa!
At Dorman Tree Farm, they shape and shear their trees to ensure you get that classic Christmas tree outline. You can also pick up a fresh wreath to decorate your door. You'll definitely need some Christmas captions for when you post your picture-perfect decoration photos after your visit!
Tomalchoff Farms' pre-cut Douglas, Nobel, and Nordmann Firs are brought in from tree-growing country in Oregon, but they're still ultra-fresh. The fourth-generation farm also offers a train ride for kids, hot cocoa, s'mores, and other snacks!
Wonderland Tree Farm really has it all. They offer a ton of varieties, including Scotch Pine, White Pine, Leyland Cypress, and Virginia Pine. You can choose to either cut it yourself, or pick a pre-cut option. And you can shop handmade wreaths, garlands, and other arrangements while you're there. Oh, and you can bring your dog!

Covered Bridge Ranch is a family farm that sits on 300 acres that's set at the base of the majestic San Juan Mountain range. With a wide selection of choose-and-cut trees, such as Black Hills, Norway Spruce, Concolor, and Douglas Fir, there's one that's just right for your family. It's also a wildlife refuge!
Visit Jones Family Farm where you can choose and cut Colorado Blue Spruce, Douglas Fir, Balsam Fir, Fraser Fir, and Angel White Pine trees. Even without snow, there's so much Christmas magic at Gibbs Christmas Tree Farm. You'll find choose-and-cut Sand Pines or pre-cut Fraser Firs, the latter of which are brought in fresh from North Carolina. They also have potted Arizona and Murry Cypress options in various sizes.
Sugarland Tree Farm offers gorgeous Virginia Pine, Cedar, Leyland Cypress, Blue Ice that you can choose and cut yourself or grab a pre-cut Fraser Fir fresh from Virginia. And don't miss out on their store, the Sugarhaus, for decorations, gifts, and more!
You don't need snow to get in the Christmas spirit! Hooluana Tree Farm was established by a ranching family who had fond memories of their tree-cutting tradition when they raised their kids back on the mainland. Choose and cut the Cypress yourself or have the staff help you, and start a new tradition of your own.
Choose and cut your own tree, or select one from the pre-cut retail lot at Rusty Gate Tree Farm (which is named after the owner's dog!). At Pine Creek Farm, you'll find the perfect tree on 12 acres of choose-and-cut Austrian or Scotch Pines. Fraser Firs, which don't thrive here, are brought in from Minnesota, if you prefer this classic Christmas variety. Wreaths and flocked trees also are available.
