When the weather starts heating up, there’s nothing I love more than an icy-cold glass of homemade lemonade—and this frozen pink lemonade might just be my favorite version yet. It’s sweet, tart, frosty, and the prettiest shade of pink, thanks to frozen strawberries blended right into the mix.

The recipe starts with a homemade simple syrup, which gives the lemonade the perfect smooth sweetness without any graininess. Then everything gets blended together with fresh lemon juice, frozen strawberries, and plenty of ice until it’s thick, slushy, and absolutely irresistible. The strawberries add a fruity flavor that pairs perfectly with the tart, citrusy lemons. You could make this for a 4th of July cookout, serve it alongside some fun finger foods for a birthday party, or enjoy it as a summer treat for kids.

What makes pink lemonade pink?

This frozen pink lemonade gets its beautiful pink color naturally from frozen strawberries blended into the lemonade mixture. The strawberries also add a sweet, fruity flavor that pairs perfectly with fresh lemon juice.

Can you use other fruit in frozen pink lemonade?

Yes! Raspberries, watermelon, or frozen peaches would all be delicious variations on this frozen lemonade recipe.

Is frozen pink lemonade kid-friendly?

Absolutely. This easy frozen drink recipe is nonalcoholic and perfect for kids, summer parties, cookouts, and backyard gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (from 5 to 6 lemons)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries

Directions

    1. Step 1Make the simple syrup: Whisk the sugar with 1 cup water in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar completely dissolves, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and pour into a heatproof container. Refrigerate until cooled, about 30 minutes.
    2. Step 2Combine the simple syrup, lemon juice, frozen strawberries, and 4 cups ice in a blender and blend until smooth, about 15 seconds. Divide among glasses.
