I’ve got a little secret weapon in my kitchen, and it goes by the name of avocado crema. I mean, this stuff is magical. It’s light and fluffy, silky-smooth, and comes together in minutes with just five simple ingredients (yup, that includes salt and pepper!). All you need is a blender and a craving for something fresh and fabulous. Around the ranch, we love to spoon it over everything from sizzling beef fajitas to juicy salmon tacos...and don’t even get me started on how good it is spread on a fresh tomato sandwich. I also like to serve it as a dip with crunchy veggies and tortilla chips before dinner. However you use it, that zippy lime-kissed flavor always hits the spot. Trust me—this avocado crema is the stuff creamy-dip dreams are made of.

Do you need a blender for avocado crema?

Using a blender is the quickest and easiest way to make this spread. But don't worry if you don't have one. You can use a food processor or simply mash the ingredients together in a bowl with a fork or a potato masher. It just takes a little more elbow grease.

How do you tell if an avocado is ripe?

The best way to check for a ripe avocado is to give it a gentle squeeze. The fruit should give a little—but it shouldn't be rock-hard or mushy. The skin of a Haas avocado will also be a darker green when it's ripe.

How do you store avocado crema?

We all know avocados like to turn brown quickly, so this dip will be at its best soon after you make it. However, if you store it in an air-tight container with a piece of plastic wrap pressed to the surface of the dip, it will stay fresh for up to one more day.
