If you’re hunting for the easiest holiday treat ever—one that looks fancy, tastes like a dream, and takes hardly any effort—these cinnamon roll truffles are about to make your season very merry. They start with a simple can of store-bought cinnamon rolls (yes, the kind we all secretly love), baked until golden and then transformed into the sweetest little bite-size confections. Imagine everything you adore about a warm cinnamon roll—soft dough, cozy spice, creamy icing—mixed together and dipped in a smooth white candy shell. Heaven. Absolute heaven.

These truffles are perfect for Christmas cookie trays, church gatherings, neighbor gifts, or those moments when you need a last-minute dessert. The best part? They come together with pantry-friendly ingredients and a few quick pulses in the food processor. After a chill in the fridge and a pretty cinnamon-spiced drizzle on top, you’ve got a treat that looks like it came straight from a candy shop. One bite and you’ll be hooked!

If you love cinnamon-spiced everything, be sure to try some of my other favorite cinnamon recipes too, like cinnamon roll breakfast casserole, biscuits with cinnamon honey butter, and cinnamon roll monkey bread.

Can you use any brand of canned cinnamon rolls for cinnamon roll truffles?

Yes! Any refrigerated cinnamon roll dough will work, just pick your favorite brand!

Do you need a food processor to make these cinnamon roll truffles?

A food processor gives the smoothest texture, but you can finely crumble the rolls by hand and mix everything in a bowl if needed. The truffles may be a bit more rustic, but just as delicious.

Can you freeze cinnamon roll truffles?

Yes! Freeze them without the candy coating for the best texture. Thaw in the refrigerator, then dip in candy melts before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 (12.4-ounce) can cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing (such as Pillsbury)
  • 2 oz. cream cheese, cubed, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups white candy melts (about 10 ounces)
  • 1/2 tsp. vegetable oil

Directions

    1. Step 1Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Step 2Bake the rolls according to the package directions, reserving the icing packet for later. Allow to cool completely.
    3. Step 3Place the cinnamon rolls in a food processor and pulse until coarse crumbs form. Add the cream cheese, powdered sugar, ½ teaspoon of the cinnamon, and the reserved cream cheese icing and pulse until almost combined.
    4. Step 4Spoon the mixture into a medium bowl and mix by hand until combined.
    5. Step 5Scoop the mixture into 1 tablespoon-size balls and roll them until smooth and round. Place on the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.
    6. Step 6In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy melts and vegetable oil in the microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and melted, about 45 seconds. Let cool slightly.
    7. Step 7Using a fork, dip the cinnamon roll balls in the melts and place on a prepared baking sheet. Let set for a few minutes, then remelt the remaining candy melts if necessary. Transfer about 2 tablespoons to a bowl and stir in the remaining ½ teaspoon cinnamon. Add the cinnamon candy melt mixture to a piping bag or plastic zip-top bag, trimming off the tip of the bag. Drizzle or swirl the candy melts onto the truffles as desired. Let set, about 10 minutes.

Tip: Because these truffles contain cream cheese, they should be stored in the refrigerator. They will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
