Baby, you’re a firework lightning strike!
Pawhuska’s 4th of July fireworks are always a sight to see, but this year, the sky decided to add a little special effect of its own. During the annual Patriotic Party on the Prairie, Osage artist Addie Roanhorse captured an incredible wide-angle video of the fireworks lighting up downtown Pawhuska while lightning flashed across the sky at the very same time.
Yes, actual lightning. As if Ladd and the cowboys needed any extra help making the fireworks dramatic. 😂
Ree Drummond shared Addie’s video on her Instagram stories and wrote, “Amazing wide angle shot!” In the clip, fireworks can be seen bursting over downtown Pawhuska while a bright streak of lightning cuts across the clouds above. The string lights are glowing, The Mercantile is all lit up, and the whole scene looks like something out of na movie.
Of course, Ree had already warned everyone that the fireworks would be something to behold. Before the celebration, she wrote that Pawhuska’s 4th would include “fireworks like you’ve possibly never seen before.” And boy, was she right!
There was definitely some weather excitement during this year’s celebration (more details on that coming from Ree!), but the fireworks still went on, and Addie’s video caught one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that made the night even more memorable.
Fireworks below, lightning above, and Pawhuska in the middle of it all. This year will be hard to top!
