Whether you’re planning a huge 4th of July bash or just a small gathering, it’s now time to start figuring out your menu. While you’re probably focused on all the savory grill recipes for the main course, don’t forget to plan a few holiday appetizers! After all, you don’t want your guests waiting around for you to finish those ribs. But don’t worry, there are plenty of 30-minute 4th of July appetizers you can make.

Summer appetizers can be really easy thanks to all the seasonal produce available. Who doesn’t love Caprese salad or a big bowl of guacamole? They’re so fresh and crowd-friendly! And best of all, they really don’t take that much time at all to assemble. Guac from scratch only takes 15 minutes, and all you have to do is open a bag of chips to serve.

There are plenty of other fresh summer salads, too. It’s a good way to make sure everyone gets in their veggies before being a little naughty later. (Hey, it’s America’s birthday! It’s okay to let loose.) But of course, no one biting into a Greek-inspired tomato, cucumber, and feta salad thinks that they’re being healthy. They’re just enjoying a flavorful starter course! And they certainly won’t know that these 4th of July appetizers were made in 30 minutes or less.
