Someone get Disney on the phone. We have their next movie!
A puppy named Tater Tot and a cow named Miss Lulu have decided that species are irrelevant when choosing a best friend, and one video of the pair on a South Texas ranch stopped us squarely in our tracks. They're playful. They're sweet. And they're completely and udderly (sorry, had to!) attached to each other. Please clear the next 23 seconds of your schedule accordingly.
The video comes from WK Rockin' Stock in Stockdale, Texas and shows Tater Tot and Miss Lulu doing what best friends do best: hanging out, following each other around, and generally behaving as though there is nowhere else either one would rather be. Making the whole thing approximately 400 percent more emotional is the audio, which combines the famous Forrest Gump moment when Forrest describes Jenny as his “most special friend” with Fleetwood Mac's “Landslide.”
Excuse us while we recover.
We're clearly not alone. “Is this a Budweiser commercial?” one person commented. Another asked the equally valid question: “I have 5 dogs. Do I need 5 cows?”
And our answer is... not no. 😂
Of course, Ree Drummond knows a thing or two about becoming emotionally attached to a cow. She and Ladd rescued Bessie Lou during a winter storm, and the little bottle calf quickly became such an important part of Ree's daily routine that feeding her now factors into Ree's description of a “perfect day” on the ranch.
Ree also happens to have her beloved yellow Lab, Lucy, who's spent years accompanying her on ranch adventures. These days, Ree will even improvise a way to help Lucy climb into the Gator because, as she puts it, she’ll do “anything for Lucy girl.”
So Tater Tot and Miss Lulu are basically the Texas version of Bessie Lou and Lucy. Now we just need those two to become best friends, too.
Ree, you know what to do!
