Sigh, we’ll start packing for the country now.
Ree Drummond shared a new video from the ranch that’s only a few seconds long, but it may be the most peaceful thing you’ll watch all day. In the foreground, her yellow Lab, Lucy, is fast asleep in the grass, curled into a little ball without a care in the world. Behind her sits a full bed beside the pond, with several pretty quilts draped over the frame and fluttering slightly in the breeze.
Yes, there is an actual bed sitting outside by the water. It was almost certainly there for a photo shoot, but that doesn’t stop us from wondering whether outdoor bedrooms should become a thing. There are rolling green fields in the distance, clouds drifting across the sky, and one very content dog who seems to have decided the whole setup was arranged for her personal nap.
“Lucy Girl,” Ree wrote over the clip. And really, Lucy has the right idea. Why climb into the beautifully made bed when there’s a perfectly good patch of cool grass nearby?
The quilts are part of Ree’s newly launched Pioneer Woman home collection at Walmart, which includes a fresh assortment of bedding in softer colors and more natural textures. There are still plenty of the floral details Ree loves, of course. But in this setting, they look right at home hanging beside the pond with the wind moving through them.
The whole scene is so quiet and lovely that you can practically feel the breeze through the screen. Country life obviously involves plenty of hard work, but this little moment looks like the payoff: open space, a sleepy dog, and nowhere else you need to be.
Scoot over, Lucy. We’re joining you!
