Alex Drummond’s second Mother’s Day was one for the books—not because it was filled with big plans or lots of gifts, but because it was focused on what she values most in life: family. This year, Alex spent her day savoring the sweet simplicity of her family’s presence—and she wouldn’t have it any other way! “All I could ask for this Mother’s Day, a family walk to the park!!! ☀️,” she said of her Mother’s Day plans. “Heart is so full 🤍.”
In the accompanying selfie she posted on Instagram, Alex is beaming at the camera, clad in a black tank top and biker shorts that show off her baby bump, while her husband, Mauricio, is smiling behind her, pushing the stroller (Alex gets to be off duty for the day!) and sipping his coffee from an insulated mug. Their daughter, Sofia, is kicking back in the stroller (and taste-testing the strap 😂), looking cute in a gingham outfit and white sneakers. The trio is surrounded by the outdoor scenery of blue skies, colorful flowers, and lush foliage. And with Alex's favorite floral tumbler and Sofia’s water bottle stuffed in the stroller, it looks like they wanted to prioritize staying hydrated while soaking up all the sunshine.
While Mother’s Day is supposed to be all about the mamas, Alex wanted to share the spotlight with her firstborn. In the midst of family time, Alex took a moment to reminisce on the day she first became a mom when Sofia was born. “Forever the one that made me a mama 🤍,” Alex shared alongside a sweet selfie that a postpartum Alex took from her hospital bed, with a newborn Sofia sleeping in her arms.
Fast forward to today: Alex dressed her now-toddler in what she called an “unbelievably sweet” Mother’s Day outfit from The Smocked Flamingo: a pink-and-green floral dress with puff sleeves, a ruffled collar, and “MAMA’S GIRL” embroidered across the front. “Mama’s girl forever 💕,” Alex emphasized. In the photo, Sofia is showing off her gummy smile and cute new hairdo, a high ponytail. And in the following picture of Sofia’s darling new dress, Alex revealed her daughter’s “new favorite pose,” which entails balling up her hands and tucking them beneath her chin. It looks like she’s framing her face—so cute!
From their morning stroll to their laid-back evening, this Mother’s Day included so many sweet moments that she and her family will cherish forever.
