Alex Drummond just gave us our first peek at baby boy’s name. Is it completely covered by white heart emojis? Yes. Does it still count? We say yes! 😂
The tiny reveal came while Alex was showing off two very sweet new additions to her home. Pottery Barn Kids sent Sofia one of its iconic Anywhere chairs—a pale pink version personalized with SOFIA across the back—and judging by the photo of her settling right in, Alex’s assessment was pretty accurate: “She’s obsessed!!!!!”
Then Alex panned over to a second chair. This one is brown, shaped like a little cow, and waiting for “baby bubba.” And right where his embroidered name would be? A strategically placed row of white hearts. Sneaky!
Naturally, we briefly considered whether the number of hearts might correspond to the number of letters in his name. Then we remembered Alex has been successfully keeping this secret for a couple of weeks and probably isn’t going to make it that easy for us.
Still, the chair tells us one important thing: That baby name sounds pretty official now. Just recently, Alex said she and Mauricio were “90% certain” they had landed on the one, but wouldn’t share it until he was born. An embroidered chair feels like that remaining 10 percent may be disappearing!
The rest of the room is coming along, too. Mauricio has officially graduated from paint swatches to actual walls and the nursery is now covered in the prettiest soft blue—a big check off Alex’s before-baby list. And now the countdown is very much on. Baby boy is due September 21, though Alex has made one request abundantly clear: not in August, please. There’s a September birthstone necklace riding on this!
Once the calendar flips, though? Name embroidered, nursery painted, big-sister chair occupied. Baby bubba, they’re getting ready for you! 💙
