Alex Drummond’s daughter Sofia is very interested in babies. Whether she’ll be quite as interested when one moves into her house permanently? Her mama has some thoughts. 😂
With baby boy’s September arrival getting closer, Alex has been getting plenty of questions about how Sofia will handle her promotion to big sister. During a recent “Naptime Q&A” on Instagram, one follower asked how she thinks Sofia will react when her little brother finally arrives, and Alex gave the only answer anyone with a toddler can really give: “I honestly have no idea 😂😂😂😂.”
But there are a few promising signs! “She’s been pretty intrigued about the tiny babies she’s met recently through friends,” Alex wrote. “Really wants to touch their faces etc.” So far, so good. Tiny babies are interesting! Tiny babies have tiny faces! Tiny babies also eventually go home. And that last part is where Alex thinks things may get interesting.
“I think she’ll be excited at first but then may have a hard time when she realizes the baby is never leaving and she has to share attention?” she continued. “But who knows!!”
Sofia has been working on this whole big-sister concept for months, with admittedly mixed results. Earlier this summer, Alex shared that Sofia didn’t understand there was a baby in her belly “at all.” Whenever Alex tried to explain it, Sofia would stare for a second, point to her own stomach, and say “baby.” A reasonable interpretation of the information presented!
Alex has also been thinking a lot about what life with two under two will actually look like, but their relationship is one of the parts she’s most excited to see unfold. She recently said she hopes Sofia and her brother will be “buddies and playmates” because they’ll be so close in age. “I know that’s probably wishful thinking,” Alex joked. “But I know they’ll be close.”
For now, Sofia gets a few more weeks as the only tiny human in the house. And then, surprise! That reminds us...who’s going to tell George?! 🫣😂
