Alex Drummond has plenty to look forward to about having two under two. But getting both children out of the house isn’t necessarily at the top of that list! 😂

With baby boy due in September and Sofia very much in her toddler era, Alex recently answered an Instagram Q&A about what she’s most nervous—and most excited—about as their family grows. And her answer has actually changed a little since earlier in her pregnancy. Back in May, Alex admitted she was worried about balancing her attention between a newborn and Sofia, who was going through an especially clingy stage at the time. These days, that part isn’t weighing on her quite as much.

“I’m not as nervous about that element, but I feel like more nervous just about how I’m going to balance everything from a logistical point,” Alex said. Right now, she explained, simply getting Sofia somewhere can already feel like there are a million moving parts. And soon there will be another car seat, another little person, and approximately another household’s worth of stuff coming along for the ride. That double stroller on the before-baby checklist is about to become very important!

Sleep is another question mark. “I’m nervous that this baby isn’t going to be as good of a sleeper as Sofia is—slash was,” Alex admitted. And while Sofia is officially a toddler now—climbing furniture, walking everywhere, and staying very busy—Alex pointed out that she’s still very little herself. Two tiny humans needing two completely different things at the exact same time? That’s the part Alex is still trying to picture.

As for that earlier fear that Sofia might somehow feel forgotten when her brother arrives, Alex seems much less concerned. She laughed that Sofia is “just a lot right now,” and she really can’t imagine a scenario in which her very demanding firstborn gets lost in the shuffle.

On the flip side, there’s plenty Alex is very excited about! She can’t wait to see “how close they will be” and imagines the two eventually becoming “buddies and playmates.” And then there are the things that require no imagining at all: “I’m also excited for, obviously, the baby snuggles,” Alex said. And perhaps sweetest of all, “I’m excited to watch Sofia be a big sister.”

As for getting everybody loaded into the car? They’ll figure that one out when they get there. 😂
