Paige Drummond knows how to kick off summer the Texas way!
Just after celebrating her first wedding anniversary with her husband, Paige shared a whole batch of photos from what looked like the happiest Memorial Day weekend. Her caption kept it simple: “Long weekend well spent! 🇺🇸” And truly, that about sums it up.
The pictures had a little bit of everything: a sweet photo of Paige and her husband smiling together, a big group shot in front of the Luckenbach post office, live music under the trees, pool time with friends, wide open Texas views, and a few peaceful country scenes that looked like they belonged on a postcard. There were cowboy hats, cold drinks, sunshine, string lights, and enough friends to make the weekend feel like one big summer kickoff party.
But we need to talk about the real star of the photo dump: Murphy.
Paige’s chocolate Lab puppy made several appearances, including one very important pool moment and one extremely important watermelon moment. In one photo, Murphy is tucked into Paige’s arms in the water like a baby who had a full social calendar and needed assistance floating through it. In another, he’s getting a taste of watermelon, which is basically a rite of passage for any respectable summer dog.
Ree Drummond clearly approved of the whole scene. “Awww, what a fun weekend with friends...and MURPH!! He’s such a substantial young man!!!” she commented. (“Substantial young man” is now the only acceptable way to describe Murphy, thank you very much.) And Alex Drummond agreed that the people need more. “Need more Murph content 🤎🤎,” she wrote, and she is absolutely correct.
Paige also shared a cozy indoor photo of herself snuggling Murphy, which may be the sweetest of the bunch. He has that giant puppy look where his paws are those of a grown dog, but his face still says baby. A substantial young man, indeed.
Between the pool, the music, the friends, the Texas scenery, and Murphy living his best life, Paige’s weekend looked like a pretty perfect start to summer. Memorial Day may mark the unofficial beginning of the season, but this group seemed to take the assignment very seriously. Sunshine? Check. Watermelon? Check. Puppy in the pool? Double-check!
