Sofia Marie Scott had a very big weekend on the ranch, but this sweet photo with her Pa-Pa might be one of the cutest little moments from the whole visit!
In a new photo shared from their daughter Alex’s recent trip home, Ree Drummond’s husband, Ladd, is lying on the floor while his granddaughter, Sofia Marie, climbs all over him in her tiny pink pajamas. It’s such a sweet little Pa-Pa moment: Sofia looks completely entertained and Ladd looks like he has no plans to move anytime soon. (As if she would let him anyway. Ha!)
We see plenty of Sofia with her mama, Alex, and her grandmother Ree (otherwise known as Ree Ree), but photos with Ladd are a little more rare. That’s probably because Sofia is still too young to tag along for cattle work and Ladd’s schedule doesn’t exactly revolve around nap times and toddler photo shoots! One day, she may be big enough to ride around with him and supervise all the ranch business from a safe distance. (She already got a head start by riding on Ree’s gator, after all!) For now, climbing on Pa-Pa in the living room while he’s taking a break is a perfectly good place to start!
It was a very memorable visit all around, because Sofia also took her first official steps while she was there. Ree wrote that she was “one happy woman” after getting a front row seat to the moment, which happened in the kitchen after Sofia’s nap with Alex and Paige nearby. There was shrieking, there was cheering, and there was a lot of yelling “YAY!” as Sofia crossed what Ree called “the rubicon into the wonderful world of walking.” So really, Ladd may want to enjoy this sweet floor-snuggle stage while he can. That baby girl is officially on the move!
So yes, it was a milestone weekend, indeed. But this photo of Ladd and Sofia is a reminder that some of the best moments are the simple ones in between. The first steps are unforgettable, of course. But so is a baby in pajamas, a grandpa on the floor, and a ranch house full of people who are clearly having the time of their lives watching her grow. ❤️
