Sofia Scott has plenty to say these days, but one word seems to be getting the biggest reaction from Alex Drummond.
Alex shared a new Instagram Story from a quiet day at home with Sofia and the clip captured a little post-nap routine that has apparently become a regular thing in their house. In the video, her husband, Mauricio, carries Sofia down the stairs while Alex waits below—and Sofia starts calling out “Mama” before they even make it all the way down.
“She’s been doing this every time dada brings her downstairs after a nap and it melts my heart,” Alex wrote on the video. And as soon as you watch it, you’re sure to understand why!
This comes during a very chatty season for Sofia, who has been adding more and more to her vocabulary with each passing day. In late March, Alex shared that Sofia’s words had “exploded lately” and said she was constantly trying to repeat after her and Mauricio. At the time, some of her words included “Mama,” “Dada,” “Bubba” for George, “ball,” “cheese,” “night-night,” “more,” “bubbles,” “uh-oh,” and “go.” She was also practicing her farm animal sounds, including “moo,” “bah-bah,” and “quack-quack,” which feels very fitting for a little girl with Drummond roots.
Of course, George has already been part of Sofia’s vocabulary and her daily routine, too. Alex has shared plenty of sweet moments between Sofia and the family’s golden retriever, including the fact that Sofia loves giving him hugs. So between calling for “mama,” talking about “Bubba,” and working on her animal sounds, Sofia has had a busy little stretch of talking!
Alex and Mauricio are also expecting a baby boy in September, so there will be even more baby milestones coming soon. For now, Sofia’s latest habit is simple: She wakes up from her nap, comes downstairs with her dad, and calls for “mama.”
No wonder Alex said it melts her heart every time!
