Alex Drummond already knows a thing or two about pregnancy. After all, little Sofia arrived last year and officially made Ree and Ladd grandparents, which has been a pretty delightful development for everyone involved. But now that Alex and her husband, Mauricio Scott, are expecting baby number two (it’s a boy!), she shared that this pregnancy has felt a little different from the first.
During a recent Instagram Q&A with followers, Alex opened up about the biggest differences between this pregnancy and the one she experienced with Sofia. And while there are a few similarities, the day to day experience has definitely changed!
For starters, the symptoms have been a bit different this time around.
“This pregnancy I’ve had worse headaches and more exhaustion,” Alex explained. But interestingly, the nausea hasn’t been quite as intense as it was the first time. “The nausea/aversions hasn’t been as bad as it was with Sofia! In my first trimester with Sofia I lost 15 pounds because I couldn’t eat anything.”
This time around, it’s been almost the opposite.
“With this pregnancy I’ve HAD to eat,” she said. “When the nausea hits it’s almost like hunger pains and I need food ASAP!!”
Alex also shared that she’s already showing earlier than she did with Sofia. “Also showing so much earlier!!!! (Peep the lil’ bump),” she added in the story, alongside a cozy couch photo.
Of course, there’s another big factor this time around: chasing a toddler.
When a follower asked whether pregnancy feels harder with a little one running around, Alex didn’t hesitate. “YES 😅😅 so much harder,” she said. But there’s a silver lining, too. “I will say it has made it go by a lot faster! With Sofia I felt like the first trimester took FOREVER. This one felt so much quicker!”
She also added that having Sofia around has kept her moving more than the first time. “Also it’s kept me more active!!”
So while pregnancy number two may come with a few extra headaches (literally), it sounds like the Scott household is already busy preparing for the next chapter. And with Sofia about to become a big sister to a baby brother, things are about to get even more fun!
