Alex Drummond is getting closer and closer to meeting her baby boy, but there is still one very important detail left to figure out: his name!
The Pioneer Woman’s daughter recently shared a few pregnancy updates on Instagram and she could hardly believe how quickly time is moving. “I looked at the calendar today and I was like, oh my gosh, it’s June,” Alex said. “And I enter into the third trimester this month, which is so wild to me.”
Alex said this pregnancy has mostly flown by, especially compared to her first pregnancy with Sofia. But with baby boy’s arrival getting closer, she and Mauricio still have a few things to check off their list. For starters, the nursery has not been started yet, though Alex said she plans to begin putting together a mood board this week. She also admitted she feels “a little less urgency” this time around because Sofia slept in their room for the first four months and baby boy will likely do the same at first.
Still, Alex wants the nursery mostly finished before he arrives. She’s due toward the end of September, but because of her history with blood pressure, she said she’ll probably be induced at 38 weeks again. “And that worked out great with Sofia,” she explained. “So that would put me in the first week of September. So I’m telling myself that we have three months and we need to get going on that.”
Then came the baby name update, which sounds like it has not gotten any easier! “Still do not have a name, still are not even close on the name,” Alex said. “So send prayers for that.”
She explained that she and Mauricio just haven’t landed on anything they both love yet. Apparently, boy names are proving to be a little trickier than expected! “I keep telling people that it might just be one of those situations where we go to the hospital with a few options and let the baby speak to us and tell us who he is,” Alex said.
That honestly sounds pretty sweet—and maybe baby boy will know exactly what to do when the time comes. Until then, Alex has a nursery mood board to start, a third trimester to enter, and a name list that could use a little divine intervention!
