Alex Drummond and Mauricio Scott are heading off on their babymoon, but it sounds like they’re packing one very important assignment with the sunscreen: pick a baby name!
Alex shared the update during an Instagram Q&A, when someone asked if she had “any name ideas for baby boy yet.” Her answer? “We have a few contenders!!!! Our goal is to decide this week on our babymoon/anniversary trip.” Then she added the feeling every parent who has ever stared at a baby-name list knows well: “Boy names are HARD.”
She’s not wrong! Naming a whole human is a lot of pressure, especially when you already landed on such a sweet name the first time around. Alex and Mauricio welcomed Sofia Marie in December 2024, and Alex later explained that they picked “Sofia” simply because they loved it. “We wanted to pick a name that sounded beautiful in English and Spanish,” she said at the time, adding that they chose to spell her name with an “f.”
Her middle name also had a family connection. Sofia’s middle name is Marie, which is Alex’s middle name and Ree Drummond’s middle name, too: Ann Marie, Alex Marie, Sofia Marie. How cute is that?!
So, what will baby boy Scott be named? Alex didn’t share the contenders, which means everyone will just have to wait and see. Maybe they’ll choose something that sounds sweet in both English and Spanish again. Maybe they’ll pull from the family tree. Ladd would certainly be a very Drummond choice, though George is probably off the table since that name already belongs to Alex and Mauricio’s golden retriever. 😂
Whatever they pick, the countdown is officially on! Alex previously shared that their baby boy is due this fall, so this Cabo babymoon feels like the perfect chance for the parents-to-be to relax, celebrate their anniversary, and maybe come home with a name.
