Alex Drummond’s backyard is having a moment!
She recently shared a photo on Instagram Stories showing the view out her back door, where the pink blooms are doing exactly what pink blooms are supposed to do in summer: show off. There are string lights hanging overhead, bright blue sky above, and a little patch of backyard turf below that has already seen plenty of family activity.
“Always love this view out our back door when everything is in bloom 💖,” Alex wrote.
It’s a pretty peaceful scene, which feels especially nice considering Alex and Mauricio have had a busy few weeks! Sofia is officially walking now, which means the backyard is probably no longer just a place to sit. It is a place to toddle, explore, and possibly try to decide whether a stick belongs in one’s mouth. (Sofia has done her field research.)
There was Alex’s “not their first rodeo” baby sprinkle for the baby boy she and Mauricio are expecting this September, which was every bit as cute as it sounds! Tiny cowboy details, sweet family moments, plenty of celebrating...all the good baby-sprinkle things. Then came the decidedly less fun part of the month: Mauricio’s Alpha-Gal diagnosis, which has sent the family into a whole new world of chicken, turkey, and reading ingredient labels. (Poor Mauricio!)
So yes, a blooming backyard view is a welcome little gift.
Alex and Mauricio’s backyard has already proven itself useful this year, especially after Sofia got her water table and George decided it might also actually be his water table. Dogs are not known for respecting toy ownership. George has also been known to keep an eye out for bunnies back there, because apparently every backyard needs its own security department.
Between the flowers, the string lights, and the soft turf underfoot, it’s a sweet little summer setup. And with Sofia on the move now, it’s certainly going to get plenty of action!
