As Alex Drummond’s daughter, Sofia, gets older (she’s just about to hit the 18-month mark!) and grows into her features, she’s starting to resemble her parents more and more. While some shots of Sofia—especially when she flashes her adorable grin—show a striking similarity to her dad, Mauricio, others prove that Sofia is a carbon copy of her mama.
When Sofia was just a few months old, Ree swore she was looking at baby Alex. “It might as well be 1997 because this is 100% Alex as a baby,” Ree said.
Even Alex saw the resemblance: “Every time I see a baby photo of myself, I see so much Sofia,” she shared.
But the mother-daughter duo has so much more in common than their round faces, fair skin, and bright eyes—they also share the same hair type! If you’ve been following Alex on social media for the past few months, you know how much she loves snapping photos of her daughter’s little locks at different angles and throughout various stages. And as Sofia’s hair grows longer and her curls become more defined, Alex is starting to see herself in her daughter.
In fact, over the weekend, Alex uploaded a throwback photo of herself as a toddler, proving that her baby girl definitely inherited her curls. “If you’re wondering where she gets the curls, this was me at age 2 🤣 🤣,” Alex posted. The baby photo shows little Alex with a full head of blonde ringlets that fall just above her shoulders. Even though two-year-old Alex is six months older than Sofia is right now, we have a pretty good idea what Sofia’s hair texture will look like in the near future!
While reminiscing on her silky curls, Alex felt more inspired to embrace her natural hair type—she might even follow a haircare routine designed for curly hair! “Sadly I put too much heat on my hair and it’s just kinda frizzy now vs. pretty curls,” Alex added. “I need to start doing a curl routine!!!!”
Before Alex posted her cute baby photo, she shared a couple snapshots of Sofia’s current hair status. While Sofia drank her bottle, Alex snuck a photo of her daughter’s side profile, demonstrating how much volume and texture her locks have at just a year and a half. “These curls rlly get me hahahah,” Alex wrote alongside the picture, poking fun at the untamed mass. While Sofia’s curls might not be as pronounced as two-year-old Alex’s, they’re just as voluminous!
To really capture her daughter’s curls, Alex posted another picture of Sofia’s hair from the back of her head. “Like we are in full mullet mode rn LOL,” Alex added to the next photo on her Instagram Story. “But I’m excited to see how pretty they get the more it grows!!!!” Based on Alex’s baby picture, we have a feeling that Sofia’s curls will look shiny and bouncy in no time!
