Alex Drummond just shared the sweetest glimpse of Ree in full-on grandma mode, and this one is going to get you. 🥹
In a new Instagram Reel, Alex stitched together clips from her family’s recent weekend at the ranch—their last visit before baby boy arrives—showing Ree doing what she does best these days: being completely smitten with Sofia. There are couch snuggles, playtime, rides around the ranch, and plenty of giggles in between. Alex set the video to ABBA’s “Slipping Through My Fingers” (which certainly does not help anyone trying to keep it together) and summed it all up with one very accurate line: “Watching your mom be a grandma >>>>.”

Anyone who’s been following The Pioneer Woman’s “Ree Ree” era knows that grandmothering is not something she takes lightly. When Sofia took her first steps at the ranch earlier this summer, Ree called it “the happiest thing that’s ever happened to me” and declared, “repetition is the highest form of grandmothering!” She’d also previously requested approximately 800 videos of Sofia practicing her walking. Just normal grandma behavior!
And Ree Ree’s crew is about to get a little bigger. Alex is nearing the end of her second pregnancy and her baby boy will be here before we know it! That means Sofia is about to become a big sister, Alex and Mauricio will officially have two little ones running around, and Ree will have another little pookie head to spoil.
Judging by this video, she’s more than ready for the job. The only question is whether her phone has enough storage for twice the grandbaby footage. 😂
