Apparently, it only takes one pregnancy for a baby to turn into a full-on toddler. Who approved this?!
Alex Drummond gave everyone a shock to the system during a recent Instagram Q&A when someone asked how old Sofia was when she found out she was pregnant with baby number two. The answer: “She had just turned 1!” But Alex also shared a photo from that exact day—and suddenly the passage of time became almost offensive. “This pic is from the day I found out omg she was such a babyyyyy 😭🤣,” Alex wrote.
And she really was! In the throwback, Sofia is perched against the couch in rainbow pajamas, all rosy cheeks, wispy baby hair, and one extremely gummy grin. Fast-forward a matter of months and the little girl in Alex’s newest photo is standing at the coffee table in a collared tennis dress and pink Crocs looking like she has appointments later. She’s become a pro at walking, graduated to tiny pigtails, and even goes to school!
All the while, Alex has been growing the baby boy who made that first photo such a memorable one. He’s due September 21 (!!!) and Sofia is now just weeks away from officially becoming a big sister.
Ree, meanwhile, has had a front-row seat to so many of her first grandchild’s milestones. When she watched Sofia take her first steps at the ranch, she called it “the happiest thing that’s ever happened to me.” (Grandmas will understand.) So yes, seeing that little rainbow-pajama baby suddenly running around in Crocs may require a minute. 😂
Time, please slow down. Ree Ree is not emotionally prepared for all this growing up!
