Alex Drummond has said she wanted to try vlogging her life as a stay-at-home mom—and this week, she finally did it! The fun video is a realistic snapshot of mornings at her house right now: one 15-month-old, another baby on the way, coffee doing a lot of the heavy lifting for them as young parents, and Alex trying to remember to keep filming through all of it.
She opens the vlog in her robe, hair still a little wild (but very honest! 😂), standing in the bathroom with the words “Wednesday Morning Vlog” across the screen, followed by “SAHM/content creator, 15m old + 14 wks pregnant.” And that pretty much says it all!
From there, the video moves through the small things that make up a regular morning at Alex and Mauricio’s house. She brushes her teeth, dabs on a little blush to help herself feel more awake, changes into a blue-and-yellow striped set, and makes the bed. Mauricio makes a quick appearance after a run, giving the camera a thumbs-up, and then coffee becomes the next item on the agenda.
Alex heads out with her giant tumbler, grabs drinks for herself and Mauricio, and comes back to that brief quiet stretch before Sofia wakes up. In the kitchen, she packs up food for Mauricio before he heads to work, wipes down the counters, and even sits for a minute reading before her hubby heads out the door.
Then Sofia wakes up and the whole morning changes gears!
Alex goes into the nursery, where Sofia is standing in her crib with a pacifier, turns off the little red light, scoops her up, gets her changed, and manages a quick FaceTime with Ree. The screen says, “No audio but hi Ree Ree,” which makes Ree’s comment later—“This gave me so much FOMO 😭 I want to be there!!!!”—even easier to understand.
After that, it’s all the sweet and ordinary stuff that fills a morning with a toddler. Sofia plays on the rug in pink pajamas, sits down for breakfast in her high chair with blueberries, and has George nearby for moral support in case anything edible hits the tray. Alex opens the curtains while George stands on the couch doing his window watch and Sofia toddles around like she has her own schedule to keep.
Later, Alex changes again, this time into an oversized red set, gets Sofia buckled into the stroller, slips on sunglasses, and heads out for a walk with George trailing along. Back at home, there’s blanket time in the yard, another round in the high chair, a pink cup held with both hands, and (finally!) nap time.
The vlog ends with Alex easing the nursery door shut and winding up back on the couch under a blanket, which feels like exactly the right ending. Alex called it “a very classic morning for us around here,” and that’s exactly what it looks like: slow, full, a little chaotic, and very, very sweet.
