In case you missed the exciting life update: Alex Drummond is pregnant! It’s been a week since Ree Drummond broke the news that her oldest child is having her second child, and Alex’s Instagram followers have so many questions. To catch everyone up on all the details of this big milestone, Alex launched an Instagram Q&A earlier this week that was dedicated to discussing all things pregnancy.
While a lot of people were interested in hearing about Alex’s signs and symptoms, as well as how this pregnancy compares to her first, one follower wanted to know how Ree and Ladd found out before the rest of the world did. When the follower asked, “How did you tell your parents the news about baby number two?” Alex explained that the reveal was very low-key. “We were pretty nonchalant this time around 😂😂,” she admitted.
In fact, a couple days went by before Alex filled her mom and dad in. “We immediately FaceTimed my parents (like a day or two after finding out LOL) because we weren’t going to see them in person for a while and I needed to tell someone!!!” Alex said.
But instead of just blurting it out over the video call, Alex wanted her one-year-old daughter, Sofia, to share the big family update—and Sofia made it happen in the sweetest possible way! “We put a ‘big sister’ sweatshirt on Sofia for the FaceTime,” Alex revealed. So, when Ree and Ladd picked up the call, little Sofia’s outfit said it all. “They were super surprised!” Alex recalled of her parents’ reaction.
As for the rest of her family and friends, Alex waited to announce the news until they were in the same room. “Everyone else we told in person,” Alex said. Once her immediate circle was in the loop, Alex shared the exciting information with the social media world by writing: “Here we go again!! Another little blessing coming in September 👼🤍 Thank you Lord for our growing family! (George is still processing the news 😂).”
Regardless of how the people in Alex’s life found out, it’s clear that everyone (siblings, friends, and strangers alike!) is ecstatic for her. Congrats to the Scotts!
