Some babies sprint. Some babies stroll. And some babies take their sweet, happy, adorable time!
In a recent Instagram Q&A, Alex Drummond shared a little update on baby Sofia’s next big milestone and it sounds like walking is not exactly at the top of her to-do list right now. When someone asked if Sofia is fully on the move, Alex kept it real. Not yet! She said Sofia can take a few steps with her walker, but she’s just not all that interested. As Alex put it, “homegirl is on her own timeline.” 😂
And if this sounds familiar, it’s because it kind of is. Sofia took a similar approach to crawling back when she was still under a year old. Alex has shared before that she waited about 10 months for that moment, and when it finally happened, it was the cutest milestone yet! (Then came standing. And then came standing up in her crib in the middle of the night. 🫠) Still, it was all worth the wait! Now here they are again, letting Sofia call the shots.
This little pookie head is about 15 months old now, which means those first real steps could happen any day…or not! Either way, she seems perfectly content cruising around, smiling, and keeping everyone guessing.
Of course, there’s also a baby brother on the way, which adds a little extra suspense to the timeline. Alex even joked that as long as Sofia is up and walking before he arrives, they’re in good shape. No pressure, Sofia. (Okay, maybe a tiny bit.)
For now, she’s still in that in-between stage, part crawler, part explorer, fully in charge of how this all unfolds. And something tells us once she decides to go for it, there will be no slowing her down!
