Alex Drummond has a theory about her baby boy—and it involves a very familiar fizzy drink.
In a recent Instagram Story, the soon-to-be mom of two shared a photo of a giant fountain soda from what looks like a local deli (the kind with the good ice and the extra-wide straw), and made a very on-brand confession. “This baby’s blood type may be Dr Pepper because I think I’ve had one every day of my pregnancy,” Alex said.
At this point, that barely registers as surprising. Dr Pepper is basically part of the food pyramid in the Drummond family! The Pioneer Woman has built entire recipes around it, from saucy barbecue chicken to a spiced-up version of her famous sheet cake, and she’s never been shy about keeping a steady supply on hand. Ree once shared a photo of herself sitting at a table with a glass of wine in one hand and a Diet Dr Pepper in the other. “This sums me up,” she wrote, because it really does tell you everything you need to know. 😂
Then there’s Ladd Drummond, who has admitted to drinking up to four cans of the good stuff in a single day. Hearing that makes Alex’s daily fountain run feel less like a phase and more like a family tradition she’s proudly carrying on!
Of course, Alex is expecting a baby boy this fall, and while we’re fairly certain his actual blood type will be something a little more official, it’s not hard to imagine he’ll grow up knowing exactly where the Dr Pepper is stashed at his Ree Ree’s house. Baby Sofia already seems to be following in her grandmother’s footsteps in more ways than one, between that hint of red hair and the fact that she’s already learning how to “drive” the ranch Gator. So it wouldn’t be surprising if her little brother picks up a few Drummond habits of his own!
At this rate, someone might want to go ahead and set up a mini fridge in the nursery. You know, just in case!
