There’s nothing sweeter than a bond between siblings—and for Alex Drummond’s kids, that’s certainly the case! Alex’s 15-month-old, Sofia, and her golden retriever, George, have been attached at the hip ever since Sofia was born, whether they’re going on morning walks together, sharing their breakfasts with one another, or stealing each other’s toys. In fact, their profound connection seemed to have started when Sofia was still in her mom’s belly—George would constantly curl up beside Alex’s pregnant stomach as if he could sense they were kindred spirits.
Over the past year, as Sofia has been hitting more developmental milestones, the siblings have gotten closer—literally: The toddler has used her older, furrier brother, who she affectionately calls “Bubbas,” as a support rail while practicing standing and as a jungle gym during her “climbing stage.” Now, her favorite way to bond with George has them closer than ever: giving him hugs! But, since Sofia has been working on her words, she pronounces it in the most adorable way! “Sofia’s been loving giving bubbas ‘guhs’ (hugs) 😭 🥰,” Alex shared in a recent Instagram Story.
Alex uploaded the sweetest photo of the brother-sister duo embracing one another. The picture shows a very cuddly Sofia, dressed in the cutest animal-themed pajamas, lying on top of George with her arms spread out wide, almost like she’s melting into him. Her little face says it all: Her mouth is slightly open and smiling, and her eyes are lit up in delight and affection. She’s fully absorbed in the moment—and fully loving it! There are toys all over the floor like Sofia was in the middle of playing but just had to give her older brother a sweet cuddle. Although you can’t see George’s full expression, based on the nature of their relationship, he’s probably rolling with the punches. 😂
While Sofia is trying to perfect her pronunciation of “hugs,” she’s been nailing a lot of her words! Alex recently shared that her little girl’s vocabulary has “exploded” and that she has a handful of favorites: “mama,” “dada,” “bubba,” “ball,” “cheese,” “night night,” “more,” “bubbles,” “uh oh,” and “go!” We can’t wait to see her list keep on expanding! We have a feeling her future baby brother’s name will be on there soon!
