Alex Drummond is starting a fun new journey—and yes, it involves caffeine!

In a recent video, Alex shared that she’s officially entering her at-home latte era after realizing she’d been making one too many iced coffee runs. “Today starts day one of my at-home coffee journey,” she said, explaining that pregnancy has turned her into a full-on iced latte person. “I have been spending way too much money getting an iced latte out almost every morning.” (We’ve all been there!)

So now, Alex is putting the fancy espresso machine she and Mauricio got for Christmas a couple years ago to work. As she put it, “Mauricio was like, you know what? We should just learn how to make a prime iced latte at home.” And that is exactly what she’s doing!

Alex said she picked up all the essentials, including “some nice vanilla syrup,” “really nice espresso,” and even “plastic cups with the sipper spouts so I can have the full coffee shop effect.” That last part really makes the whole thing. If you’re going to make your latte at home, it might as well feel like you got it to-go!

She also admitted she’s still working out the details. “I made a tester last night to perfect my latte,” she said, and later added that she hasn’t quite figured out her ideal “ratios yet of like espresso, milk, vanilla.” Still, the early results sound very promising. After a taste test, Alex declared, “It’s literally like I went to the coffee shop.” Then she took another sip and added, “It’s so good. Mmm. So yummy and I’m so proud of myself.”

One other detail from her video: Alex addressed the pregnancy coffee question she says she gets all the time. She noted that pregnant women are generally advised not to go over 200 milligrams of caffeine a day and said her coffee has about 100 milligrams. “I usually have one coffee in the morning and then a Dr Pepper in the afternoon,” she said.

So there you have it. Alex is making lattes at home now, and it sounds like she may have already cracked the code. Coffee shop budget, beware!
