Alex Drummond has found her summer pregnancy craving!

The soon-to-be mom of two is getting closer and closer to meeting her baby boy, and she recently shared one of the treats that has been getting her through these warm almost-summer days: popsicles!

“Popsicles have been my latest pregnancy craving 😂😍,” Alex wrote on her Instagram Story, sharing a photo of two boxes of JonnyPops in rainbow fruit and star-spangled flag flavors. “These are so good!!!!”

And we totally get it. here are few things better than an ice-cold pop on a hot day, pregnant or not. They’re sweet, refreshing, and wonderfully low-effort, which is really all anyone can ask for when the temperatures start creeping up. Alex is based in Dallas, too, so she knows a thing or two about needing something frozen within arm’s reach!

Of course, store-bought pops are always a good idea, especially when a craving hits and patience is not part of the plan. But if Alex ever wants to make a batch at home, Ree has the perfect red, white, and blue ice pop recipe that’s festive enough for the Fourth of July and simple enough for any summer afternoon.

“Fourth of July in Oklahoma can be a real scorcher, so I’m always on the lookout for fun frozen treats to help cool things down a bit,” Ree says of the recipe. Her homemade pops are made with a fresh strawberry layer, a honey-vanilla Greek yogurt layer, and a blueberry layer. They do need to freeze one layer at a time, but the process is very easy and the results are so, so cute.

Ree also recommends using plain, full-fat Greek yogurt for the creamiest texture, since low-fat or non-fat yogurt can freeze a little harder. Another good tip: Make them ahead and stash them in the freezer for when the heat really sets in. As Ree warns, though, “they disappear fast on steamy summer days!”

Sounds like Alex might need a double batch. 😉
