It’s shaping up to be a pretty busy travel season for the Scotts!
Between time on the ranch and life at home with baby Sofia, Alex Drummond and her husband Mauricio already have a couple of exciting trips on the calendar—and one of them is especially close to their hearts as they get ready to welcome baby number two.
In a recent Instagram Q&A, Alex shared that the family is heading to Sedona very soon, this time with Mauricio’s side of the family in tow. “We are going to Sedona next week with Mauricio’s fam,” she explained. “Bringing Sofia, so should be interesting haha haven’t traveled with her since we went to Colorado in December.” If Sofia’s track record is any indication, she’ll do just fine. The girl has already proven she can handle a suitcase and a schedule!
But as fun as that trip will be, it’s what comes after that really has Alex excited.
“And then we actually just booked a little babymoon/anniversary getaway to CABO in a few weeks!!!! I’m so excited!” she continued. “We haven’t done a trip just the two of us since having Sofia, will be so nice to have some ‘us’ time before baby boy ☀️”
And honestly, that sounds pretty perfect. There’s something really special about sneaking in a little quiet time together before everything shifts (read: gets crazy!) again. Alex has been open in the past about how big those firsts can feel—like the first time leaving Sofia for a weekend—so this trip feels like a full-circle moment in a way. A little confidence, a little excitement, and a chance to soak up time as a family of three before they become four.
Plus, Cabo isn’t exactly a bad place to relax for a few days.
For now, it’s packing lists, plane rides, and figuring out how to travel with a toddler again. But soon enough, it’ll be sunshine, dinners for two, and a little breathing room before their baby boy arrives this fall.
