George may officially be the family dog, but Sofia Marie Scott seems to have decided he is also a full-time stuffed animal, emotional support golden, and very patient best friend!
Alex Drummond shared the cutest little glimpse of her daughter’s latest favorite activity on Instagram, and it involves George, of course. In the photo, Sofia is smiling while wrapped around the Drummond family’s golden retriever, giving him a big ol’ toddler hug that says, “I love you, and also I have no concept of personal space yet.”
“OBSESSED with giving bubbas hugs,” Alex wrote. And this is not a once-in-a-while thing, either. “She does it like 10x per day haha poor George.”
Poor George, indeed! Though judging by everything we know about him, he seems like exactly the type of dog who would tolerate endless toddler squeezes with the patience of a furry little saint.
Sofia and George’s sweet friendship has been one of the cutest things to watch this year. As Sofia has grown from baby to busy little toddler, George has been right there in the mix, whether that means lurking nearby while she eats, accepting over-the-top affection, or becoming the target of her newest obsession. There’s just something so sweet about a little one bonding with the family dog, especially when the dog is as gentle and lovable as George!
Of course, Sofia is still learning the finer points of dog etiquette, such as “gentle hands” and “maybe don’t hug him ten times before lunch.” 😂 But for now, she clearly adores her “bubba,” and George appears to be taking his important job very seriously.
Ten hugs a day is a lot. But from Sofia? George probably knows he’s lucky!
