Baby Sofia has discovered the couch...and Alex Drummond’s peace was lovely while it lasted! 😂
Alex recently shared a funny video of her toddler climbing onto the living room sofa all by herself, wriggling over the cushion until she was comfortably seated with the television remote in hand. Sofia looked enormously pleased with her work. Her mother, meanwhile, immediately understood the wider implications of this new skill.
“I will never know peace again now that she can climb on the furniture 😂😂,” Alex wrote over the clip.
And just like that, an ordinary sofa became Sofia’s newest personal playground. The video shows her climbing up, sitting down, scooting around, and then doing it all over again—because apparently mastering a new skill once is not nearly enough when you’re a toddler. There must be practice. There must be repetition. There must be a remote control involved!
This latest development has been coming for a while. Earlier this year, Alex shared photos of Sofia learning to climb the stairs while she hovered nearby as the official spotter. At the time, she jokingly asked Mauricio to hurry home and install the stair gate. Sofia later took her first official steps at the ranch and quickly graduated to walking around on her own, prompting Alex to declare there’s “no stopping this chica now.”
Well, the chica has now reached new heights!
Things are only going to get livelier at the Scott house, too. Alex and Mauricio are expecting their baby boy in September, which means Sofia will soon add “big sister” to her growing résumé of walking, climbing, and keeping her parents very alert. Alex has said Sofia is already “super interested in babies,” so there should be plenty of sweetness mixed in with the action.
For now, Alex may want to enjoy any remaining furniture Sofia hasn’t figured out yet. Something tells us the coffee table should stay nervous!
