Baby boy hasn’t even made his debut yet, but Alex Drummond is already fielding questions about baby number three. 😂
During a recent Instagram Q&A, one follower asked whether Alex and Mauricio will be “done” having kids after their son arrives in September. Alex’s answer was quick: “Lord willing, no!” She explained that she and Mauricio still hope to have three or four children someday, though there may be a little more breathing room before the next one. Alex said she’ll probably give herself a longer “break” next time around.
Considering Sofia was born in December 2024 and her little brother is due September 21, she certainly deserves it! Alex has been open about feeling nervous about two under two, from figuring out the logistics of getting two tiny people out the door to wondering whether baby boy will be as good a sleeper as his big sister. And then there’s the small matter of being eight months pregnant during a Dallas summer. Alex recently joked that anyone asking how many kids she wants should check back after the heat. Fair!
But the number itself hasn’t really changed. Back in 2020 (before Alex and Mauricio were even married!), they were asked about their future family plans and both landed on “3-4” kids. And just last month, Alex gave nearly an identical answer to her most recent response: “Lord willing we’d love 3-4!!” (At the time, pregnancy-in-July Alex was leaning toward three. September Alex may feel differently. 😂)
Four kids would certainly be familiar territory. Alex grew up with three younger siblings—Paige, Bryce, and Todd—and the Drummond crew has always been a close one, even now that everyone is grown and scattered around. Alex has said moving back to Oklahoma is still a possibility someday, too.
For now though, let’s take it one baby at a time! Alex still has a little boy to meet, a Dallas summer to survive, and the whole two-under-two thing to figure out before anyone starts counting to three. 😉
