Alex Drummond and her daughter didn’t plan a matching moment, but they got one anyway!
On Instagram, Alex recently shared a sweet photo of the two relaxing together on the couch at home in Dallas. She wore a navy-and-light-blue striped dress, while Sofia sat beside her in a pale blue gingham dress with a white collar. The patterns weren’t identical, but the color palette was close enough!
“Unintentionally twinning 👯,” Alex wrote over the photo.
Sofia looked especially cute with her curls going in several (adorable) directions and a very serious expression on her face. Alex, meanwhile, peeked into the frame from beside her, clearly amused by their accidental coordination.
The matching outfits are only the latest reminder of how much the mother and daughter resemble each other. Ree Drummond has shared side-by-side baby photos of Alex and Sofia in the past, and the similarities are hard to miss—from their round cheeks and bright eyes to some of their exact facial expressions. Sofia also seems to have inherited Alex’s curls, which have become even more noticeable as her hair grows.
Alex is now eight months pregnant with her baby boy, so she’s spending these final weeks soaking up time with Sofia before she becomes a big sister. She recently joked that she plans to spend the rest of the hot Dallas summer “hibernating in the AC” while waiting for his arrival.
For now, that includes lots of snuggles with her current babies (yes, including George!) and the occasional accidental matching outfit. Not a bad way to spend a summer afternoon!
