Bringing home a new baby is exciting, beautiful, sweet, miraculous, and also a teeny tiny bit terrifying. Especially when there’s already a toddler in the house who has very strong feelings about being held, cuddled, and generally adored at all times.
Alex Drummond knows that feeling well!
During a recent Instagram Q&A, someone asked Alex if she’s nervous at all about having two kids under 2. Alex, who is currently expecting a baby boy with husband Mauricio Scott, gave a very honest answer.
“Part of me is a little nervous for how I will handle both Sofia and the baby considering how clingy she is right now,” Alex wrote.
That’s about as real as it gets. Sofia, who was born in December 2024, is still very much in her baby era herself. She’s walking, growing, smiling, exploring, and apparently keeping very close tabs on her mama these days. Add pregnancy exhaustion into the mix, and, well, that is a full time job before the new baby even arrives!
Still, Alex doesn’t seem too worried about having every little thing figured out ahead of time. In fact, she said she knows they will “figure it out day by day,” which is probably the unofficial motto of parenting in general. But the sweetest part of Alex’s answer came when she talked about what she’s looking forward to most. While the logistics of two babies so close in age might feel a little daunting, Alex said she is “honestly more excited to watch their relationship!”
And there’s already a good sign: “Sofia is super interested in babies rn so I think it will be sweet,” Alex explained.
That sound you hear is every Drummond fan imagining Sofia as a big sister and immediately melting into a puddle. Alex and Mauricio announced earlier this year that they are expecting a baby boy in the fall, which means the Scott house will be full of even more baby snuggles before too long.
There may be some nervousness, sure. But there also seems to be plenty of sweetness waiting on the other side!
