Spring has officially sprung in Dallas—and you can see the proof right there on Alex Drummond’s front porch!
Just a few days after sharing a “family Home Depot run” with Mauricio, baby Sofia, and their sidekick George, Alex popped back on Instagram to show what they picked up and what she did with it. Her front porch now has two planters filled with bright pink flowers on either side of the door, making the whole entry fresh and ready for the season. The white brick, the wood door, the greenery on the wreath, and those pops of pink all work together in a way that looks so clean and cheerful!
Alex summed it up best in her own words: “I love swapping out the plants in our planters!! Gives such a simple refresh 🌸.” And she’s right. You don’t need to redo your whole porch or buy all new furniture. Sometimes it really is as easy as switching out what’s already there and letting a few fresh blooms do the talking. If you look closely, you can even spot George peeking through the window next to the door, as if he knows he’s part of the whole presentation. (He is.)
Alex also gave a little behind the scenes on how it all actually happens at their house: “And by ‘I’ I mean I pick the flowers out at Home Depot and Mauricio plants them for me 😂💕.” Fair enough!
Her latest home upgrade serves as good reminder heading into spring. You don’t need a grand plan or a full weekend project to give your space a fun seasonal refresh. Start with one little area, whether it’s a porch, a planter, or even just a pot by the door. Add something living, something colorful, and step back to admire your handy work. That first pop of flowers does more than you think!
