Calling all parents who have ever white-knuckled a long drive with their baby in the backseat: Alex Drummond just shared a hack you may want to keep in your back pocket!
After Easter weekend at Drummond Ranch, Alex hit the road back to Dallas with Sofia after Mauricio headed home early for work. As Alex put it, it was a “LONGGGG day traveling back to Dallas solo with Sofia,” because road trips with a baby are no joke. Her solution? A tablet car mount that let her one-year-old watch a show from her car seat while Alex kept her focus on the road.
Alex joked that “screen time rules go out the window” on a drive like that, which…fair! In the photo she shared from their journey, Sofia is buckled in while watching Ms. Rachel, with the tablet mounted securely to the back of the front seat instead of wobbling around in somebody’s hands or sliding all over the car. For a baby Sofia’s age, that setup makes a lot of sense. She’s fully entertained, Alex doesn’t have to keep reaching back, and the whole ride looks a lot more manageable.
Alex is usually pretty good at sharing the little things that make mom life run more smoothly, especially now that she’s doing so much of this with a busy toddler and while pregnant with baby number two. Whether she’s finding a way to break up a long day, make an outing easier, or just get from one place to another with a little less mayhem, she always keep her tips simple and useful.
So if you ever find yourself staring down a long drive with a baby in the backseat and many, many miles ahead, Alex may have just saved you a little trouble!
