The toddler stage is not for the faint of heart—and Alex Drummond is not pretending otherwise!
Alex, who’s pregnant with a baby boy due in September, shared a very real little motherhood update on Instagram after one of those days that just takes it out of you. You know the kind: where bedtime feels like the finish line of an Olympic event, except there’s no medal, just probably a sippy cup somewhere under the couch.
“Today was one of those momming days that knocked me on my booty,” Alex wrote. “Y’all know I love being a mom more than anything on earth but MAN the toddler tantrums are something else.”
Sofia, who was born in December 2024, is in that busy toddler stage where everything is exciting, dramatic, urgent, and possibly worth having a strong opinion about. She’s been getting closer and closer to walking, loving park trips, spending time with George, and generally keeping everyone on their toes. Add a hot Dallas summer and pregnancy exhaustion to the mix, and whew. That is a lot of life happening at once!
Alex was very honest about needing a minute after the long day.
“Feel like I need 3 to 5 business days to recover,” she wrote, joking that she would “clock in again bright eyed & bushy tailed at 7am tomorrow.”
Of course, the next slide explained exactly why parents can go from totally wiped out to totally melted in about two seconds. Alex shared a sweet photo with Sofia smiling in her pajamas and holding a bottle, writing, “But how can you even be mad when they’re this cute.”
And there it is. The whole toddler experience in one tiny package: exhausting, funny, unpredictable, and somehow adorable enough to make everyone forget the chaos by morning. Well, mostly forget. The 7 a.m. clock-in still comes fast!
