Sofia Marie Scott may not be running laps around the ranch just yet, but she’s definitely getting somewhere!
Alex Drummond shared a sweet little update on Sofia’s almost-walking adventures, and of course, Ree Drummond got a front-row seat. Well, a FaceTime-row seat, which counts when you’re a proud grandmother and there are baby milestones happening.
In a photo Alex posted on Instagram, Mauricio can be seen helping Sofia take a few steps down the hallway while George trots alongside them, because naturally George needed to be part of the action. Ree’s smiling face appears in the corner of the call as Alex wrote, “FaceTiming with Alex, Mauricio, and SOFIA (and George).”
Then came the important announcement: “Showing Ree Ree our steppies!!”
Sofia has been easing into this whole walking business on her own schedule, which Alex has joked about before. Back in April, she shared that Sofia could take a few steps with her walker, but wasn’t exactly in a rush to make it her whole personality just yet. As Alex put it: “homegirl is on her own timeline.”
That timeline seems to be moving right along now. She is still in that adorable almost-there stage where every little step feels like breaking news, and honestly, it kind of is. Especially when Ree Ree is watching live!
Alex also shared a photo from the park, where Sofia looked very busy climbing, exploring, and looking suddenly so grown up. In the picture, she is perched on the playground in a little pink outfit while Alex wrote that Sofia is “OBSESSED with the park” and starts saying “weeeee” once they even turn onto the park’s street.
So between the park climbing, the hallway “steppies,” and the very important FaceTime audience, Sofia seems to be getting braver by the day. And with a baby brother on the way this fall, the timing could not be sweeter. No pressure, Sofia, but Ree Ree is watching!
