Alex Drummond’s husband has just one goal: a ponytail.
She shared a photo on Instagram showing Mauricio sitting behind Sofia and attempting to gather her growing curls on top of her head. Sofia, meanwhile, appeared far more interested in whatever was happening across the room. Salon appointments can be like that.
“Dada really wanted to put her hair in a ponytail 🥲,” Alex wrote over the picture, adding, “Still needs to get a littttttle longer.”
Mauricio may have been slightly ahead of schedule, but not by much! Sofia’s hair has been growing quickly and Alex recently shared photos of her first tiny pigtails. The one-and-a-half-year-old clearly inherited those curls from her mom. Alex once posted a childhood photo of her own full head of ringlets and joked, “If you’re wondering where she gets the curls, this was me at age 2 🤣🤣.”
Mauricio should get plenty of opportunities to practice. He and Alex are expecting their baby boy in September, so mornings at the Scott house will soon involve two little ones—and probably a few more requests for Dad’s help while Alex is busy with the newborn. Sofia’s hairstyle may eventually require bows, brushes, and an actual strategy. Baby boy, depending on what he inherits, may bring an entirely different hair situation. (Ree raised two teenage boys, so she could probably warn Mauricio about the future possibilities there. Bleach may or may not be involved.)
For now, though, Mauricio remains focused on mastering one very small ponytail. His girl-dad-only era may be nearly over, but his hairstyling career is just getting started!
