Well, this is it: baby month! 💙
Alex Drummond kicked off September with what she called “an extra pep in my step” for one very obvious reason: “It is officially baby month.” And after nine months of updates, nursery planning, name debates, summer heat, and watching baby boy get bigger and bigger, the finish line is SO close.
Technically, Alex’s due date is September 21—which also happens to be Ree and Ladd’s wedding anniversary—but she’s known for a while that she likely won’t make it all the way to that date. Earlier this summer, Alex explained that because of her history with blood pressure, she would probably be induced at 38 weeks again, just as she was with Sofia. “And that worked out great with Sofia,” she said at the time.
Now there’s an even more definite plan. Alex told followers that while babies can certainly have minds of their own, she has “an absolute cutoff” for how long this pregnancy can go because of those previous complications. She didn’t reveal the date, but did tease that “it’s sooner than you would think.”
“I feel like we are really in the home stretch and the countdown is officially on,” she said.
Evidence that Alex believes this herself: the birth nails have entered the chat. 😂 Before heading out for a manicure, she debated “some sort of baby blue” or white and explained that the new set would “hopefully be my birth nails.” Then she reconsidered the hopefully: “I think they definitely will be my birth nails.”
And today brought another big milestone! After dropping Sofia off, Alex headed straight to her “2nd (& hopefully final 🙏) doctor’s appointment of the week,” then shared a fresh strip of ultrasound photos showing just how much her little guy has grown. “9 months of growing this lil’ guy!!!!” she wrote. “Let’s finish strong 🫶.”
Of course, baby boy’s name is still staying under wraps—Alex and Mauricio recently said they’re about 90 percent sure they’ve chosen it—but at this point, there isn’t much left to do except wait.
